Reading Co-operative Bank Employees Donated $3,000 to Charities in 2012

  • February 19, 2013

Reading, MA – During the 2012 calendar year, Reading Co-operative Bank donated $3,000 to charitable organizations through their Dress Down for Charity Day program.

Each month, employees of RCB nominate an organization that they feel is a deserving cause. On the first Friday of the month, employees can dress more casually in exchange for a $5 donation to the selected charity. The Reading Co-operative Charitable Foundation matches all employee donations dollar for dollar. It is a simple yet fun way for employees to give back to the community and the philanthropic organizations that they feel passionate about.

Organizations that RCB staff supported in 2012 included:

The ALS Walk for Hope, North Shore Medical Cancer Center, Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, Hospice of the North Shore, National Multiple Sclerosis Society of New England, Strays in Need, The VNA of Middlesex-East, Wilmington Wild Things, World Vision, The Lowell Humane Society, Friends of the Reading Public Library, Social Capital Inc., and the American Red Cross.

In 2013, RCB will be looking to support local charities based in the communities we serve that focus on improving education and ending hunger.
