The Town of Reading is seeking volunteer members for a number of different boards. Those interested can pick up an application form at the Town Manager's Office or go on the town's Web site. The Volunteer Application is on the main page of the Web site under Important Links. Once the form is completed, please send it to the Town Manager's Office.

Candidates may be contacted by the Volunteer Appointment Subcommittee and the Board of Selectmen will make the appointments.

Community services

• Zoning Board of Appeals: one three-year term member; one three-year term associate member.
• Board of Health: one three-year term member.
• Cities of Climate Protection: two three-year term members; three one-year term associates.
• Community Planning & Development Commission: two three-year term members; one one-year term associate.
• Conservation Commission: two three-year term member.
• Constable: one three-year term member.
• Council on Aging: three three-year term members.
• Economic Development Committee: two three-year term members; three one-year term associates.
• Historical Commission: two three-year term members; one one-year term associate.
• Housing Authority: one five-year term member.
• Trails Committee: two three-year term members; two one-year term associates.
• West Street Historic District: two three-year term members.
