Reading Youth Hockey presents The 2013 Winter Classic, a pond hockey tournamrnt for hockey lovers of all ages.
January 25th-27th Castine Field at Birch Meadow will become the sites and sounds of a winter carnival. Starting with Friday's Opening Ceremonies to Sundays Championship Games there is plent of hockey and celebration for the whole family. There will be a DJ, Food Tent and Bonfires as we create Reading's Hockey Village.
This 4 on 4 double elimination tournament will feature divisons for the following age groups: Squirts,PeeWee,Bantams,High School, 18-30 and 30+. Space is limited so sign up today. If the weather cooperates this will be an excellent event for the families of Reading. Hopefully Selectman Schubert and his band of merry whiners will not try to derail the event by complaining about the potential noise (fun) emanating from Castine Field. This group of grousers need to remember that it is they who chose to reside adjacent to a sizable town multi-use recreation area. The Birch Meadow complex was in place long before they ever thought about living there.
