Residents Receive High Honor at Salem State

Taryn Goucher, of North Reading, and Raychel Dennis, Matthew LeBlanc, Brent Sheehan and Taylor Thomas, all of Reading, are among the 216 Salem State University students recently inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, the national first-year honor society, for being a full-time student with a grade-point average of a 3.5 or higher and in the top 20 percent of their class during their freshman semester.

Reinstated after eight years of inactivity, the Salem State chapter is one of nearly 270 chapters of Alpha Lambda Delta at institutions of higher learning throughout the United States. Established in 1924, Alpha Lambda Delta has inducted thousands of outstanding community leaders and proudly sponsors Salem State University’s efforts to recognize academic excellence.
