12th Annual Golf Tournament to Support Alzheimer’s Disease Research and Sanborn Place
Local brothers honor their parents!
The David K. Johnson (DKJ) Foundation will be holding their 12th annual DKJ Foundation Golf Tournament on Monday, August 20 at Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown, MA. The DKJ Foundation’s mission is to promote awareness and provide support for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Brothers Bruce and Gregg Johnson, life-long Reading residents and owners of Lee Kimball of Winchester created the foundation in honor and memory of their parents, David and Susan Johnson. David Johnson was diagnosed with progressive dementia at the age of 59. Several years ago he lived at Peter Sanborn Place in Reading and was the conduit to many of the services offered by Sanborn today.
Proceeds from the DKJ Foundation Golf Tournament will support the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, the David & Susan Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund (awarded to a Reading Memorial High School student pursuing a career in health care or medicine), and Sanborn Place, Home Care & Day Services located in Reading and Wakefield, MA. To learn more about the foundation and these charities, please visit their website.
Spend a day at a beautiful location with friends supporting a great organization. The DKJ Foundation wants to help individuals in the community and the foundation needs your help. There are many ways to support the annual golf tournament. Please consider golfing, sponsoring a hole, attending the reception, donating to the raffle or to the golfer’s goody bags.
