A New Friend is Waiting For You at PAWS
Cute as a gremlin, Gizmo is looking for a home of his own.
On a crisp fall day, a PAWS volunteer was raking leaves in his yard. He thought he saw a cat’s tail waving behind the leaf pile and went to investigate. It was not a cat, but a small dog, who had wandered into the yard. Without a microchip or other identification and no one coming forward to claim him, the dog, now named Gizmo, is looking for a new home.
With his sweet face and irresistible, puppy-dog eyes, Gizmo looks like a gremlin. He is curious and playful. But, unlike Gizmo in the movie The Gremlins, you can wash him, feed him after midnight, and let him go out in the sun. He will not multiply into thousands of evil fur balls who will take over your house. On the contrary, feed, water, and walk our Gizmo and you will have a healthy, fun and curious companion.
Yes, our Gizmo is a sweet and gentle, young terrier-mix with a magnetic personality. At only 18 pounds, he is a small dog with a big heart. Gizmo loves everyone he meets. He is good with cats and other dogs, and probably children, too. He likes to cuddle with people on the couch or snuggle next to the fireplace and he will nestle up to your friendly cats. Gizmo will need some puppy training, but he already comes when called, waits for his leash to be put on before going for a walk, and shows interest in learning basic tricks.
Gizmo charmed everyone he met at the recent Share the Love event at Subaru of Wakefield and was a delightful companion throughout the entire day. With his warm personality and playful ways, he may just charm his way into your house as the newest gremlin on the block.
If you are interested in meeting Gizmo, contact PAWS at (781) 246-6111 or PAWSwakefield@yahoo.com. You can also meet many of our pets at our adoption hours every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital and on the first Saturday of the month at the Woburn PETCO from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. PAWS is currently seeking new volunteers, especially those interested in fostering.
