The usual silence of North Reading was broken Saturday evening with the sound of police and fire sirens.

There wasn't an emergency. In fact, there was a celebration.

A police motorcycle and cruiser as well as a fire engine escorted the Division 3 North champion to North Reading High School after the Hornets beat Lynnfield 3-2.
