Why is a current lacross player who was caught using alcohol allowed to "delay" his suspension so as to not miss any of the playoff games? No doubt he'll join the golf team next year to fulfill the suspension.

Donna, you should get your facts straight before you make these kind of statements. It is truly unfortunate and irresponsible that you (and others) publish comments without any knowledge of events and the manner in which such situations are handled. It is harmful to those involved (i.e., students, teachers, coaches, administrators and parents, not to mention the community) and does not advance meaningful dialogue on these important issues. A public forum such as this is not an appropriate place to cast aspersions and promote an agenda, particularly when children are involved.

My understanding is that this lacrosse player will miss at least one play-off game. Donna, your source of information appears to be suspect.

Donna,
Loopholes currently exist in the rules that allow punishment to be deferred or transferred to another sport - at least until the last day of the current school year. Not to worry though because the band, drama club, debate team and probably the poetry society will be subject to the new "consequences" as well.
