The Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce hosted its fifth Annual Women Celebrating fundraiser on Wednesday, May 10, in the ballroom of the Boston/Woburn Hilton Hotel in Woburn. The annual event is aimed at showcasing women-centered vendors in an expo-like setting. More than 40 vendors took part in the event which hosted more than 350 guests. In addition to enjoying shopping and martinis, guests were entertained throughout the night by DJ Music on the Move and three fashion shows featuring salon styles and fashions courtesy of local businesses, Aine’s Boutique and Lumina Salon.
“The Chamber is dedicated to promoting the idea of buying locally and I am confident this event demonstrated the creative and unique businesses we have right here in the Reading and North Reading area. Our goal is to remind everyone that they do not need to drive out of town to get what they need,” said Chamber Executive Director Julie Higgins.
Participating Reading businesses included Burbank YMCA, Cupcake City, Center Staged Interiors, Laschi’s Hair Salon and Day Spa, The Salon on Haven, Sense of Wonder, Five Points Acupuncture, Salon Fabiano, Sanborn Place, Reading Co-operative Bank, and Core Barre.
