Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some ideas:
SHOCKTOBERFEST
Where/when: Reading Memorial High School, Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Why go: Pay only $5 for the 4th Annual Shocktoberfest. Over 50 drama club students created a Haunted House, not suitable for children.
MARTIN'S POND HAUNTED CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND
Where/when: Clarke Park, Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Why go: Enjoy games, a costume parade, food, a magic show, free scavenger hunt and haunted tour. The cost is $5 and there is a free shuttle bus that runs from the Stop & Shop parking lot to the park.
CHIP EVENT
Where/when: North Reading Masonic Lodge, Saturday at 9 a.m.
Why go: Learn about the Masonic Child Identification Program (CHIP), which is a charitable initiative by North American Masonic lodges to help identify and recover missing children.
READING LIONS CLUB OPERATION TROOP SUPPORT
Where/when: Reading Senior Center, Saturday at 9 a.m.
Why go: Operation Troop Support sends 30,000 holiday presents to service men and women every year for the holidays, but the presents need to be wrapped. Help wrap some gifts on Saturday.
MASONIC OPEN HOUSE
Where/when: North Reading Masonic Lodge, Saturday at 9 a.m.
Why go: If you have ever considered being a Mason, stop by for their open house.
