Five Things to Know Today: Aug. 30

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

Today is Thursday, Aug. 30. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. The temperature will reach 77 degrees in the afternoon and drop to 52 in the evening. Expect sunny skies.

2. Reading's First Day of School. Reading students started school yesterday. Do you have any photos of your child heading to school? Or a photo of your child's back to school outfit? Share them in our pics and clips section, or email them to ashley.troutman@patch.com.

3. NRMS Walkabout. The North Reading Middle School campus has changed. Stop by the school on Thursday at 9 a.m. for a  “Walkabout” so you can familiarize yourself with the new traffic pattern and changes.

4. Trivia. Stop by the Great American Tavern for a game of trivia at 8 p.m.

5. North Reading ZBA. The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at North Reading Town Hall at 7 p.m. There are seven public hearings on the agenda.
