Five Things to Know Today: Nov. 14

Your guide to events and happenings in Reading and North Reading today.

 

Today is Wednesday, Nov. 14. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. The temperature will reach 45 degrees today and drop to 28 overnight. Expect mostly sunny skies.

2. Reading Board of Selectmen. The selectmen will meet at Reading Town Hall at 7 p.m. Appointments to the Town Manager Screening Committee is an item on the agenda.

3. North Reading Board of Health. The Board of Health will meet at North Reading Town Hall at 7 p.m. The 13 Erwin Road variance is an item on the agenda.

4. Holiday give local event. Stop by the Reading Public Library at 9:30 a.m. for their give local event that offers gift ideas that you can purchase in Reading. 

5. Boy Scouts collect donations for Sandy victims. North Reading's Boy Scout Troop 750 is helping Boy Scout Troop 48 of Lynnfield in a partnership with the Scouts from the Aquehonga District, the home of Boy Scouts on Staten Island to coordinate the donation of supplies to families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Troop 48 has a 48-foot trailer that will be at the Lynnfield Middle School, 505 Main Street, Lynnfield, to gather supplies from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. everyday until Friday.
