Five Things You Need to Know Today: April 2

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

 

Today is Monday, April 2. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. Expect rain throughout the day. The temperature will reach 50 degrees and drop to 27 in the evening.

2. Spring into Arts Auction Dinner. Attend the Spring into Arts Auction Dinner at the Horseshoe Grille at 5 p.m. The annual gala and fundraiser supports the arts in your community. Enjoy music, food and a raffle.

3. Zumbathon Charity event. Zumba Fitness instructor Kelli LaVita is hosting her annual Childrens Zumbathon from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Hillview Country Club. The cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door and all of the proceeds to go the Childrens Hospital Boston, Matty Eappen Foundation -Shaken Baby Syndrome Foundation and GoKids Boston- Fighting Childhood Obesity.

4.  Reading CPDC. The Reading Community Planning and Development Commission will meet at Reading Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. A minor modification at Harrow's and site plan review of Haven Properties are both on the agenda.

5. North Reading Selectmen. The Board of Selectmen will meet at North Reading Town Hall at 7 p.m. An automatic amusement device license for 28 Convenience and Town Meeting Warrant articles are two items on the agenda.
