Five Things You Need to Know Today: March 7
Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.
Today is Wednesday, March 7. Here are five things you need to know today:
1. New site. We launched the new Reading-North Reading Patch early this morning. We will be covering Reading and North Reading and providing you with the latest news and events from both towns. I hope you’ll give us a chance to show you how committed we are to covering both communities.
2. Reading resident arrested for drugs in New York. In case you missed it yesterday, a Reading resident and his daughter were arrested in upstate New York, after State Police stopped the vehicle in which they were traveling and found them to be in possession of drug-laced candy.
3. North Reading Middle school drama club. Stop by the middle school at 3 p.m. for their drama club performance. Cool Suit is a musical take-off on the classic Emperor’s New Clothes, but with a new-age vibe. In Olympic Idol, Greek Gods compete for the coveted idol title in this parody of American Idol.
4. Energy Study. The North Reading Energy Study Committee will meet at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m. Reviewing the Metropolitan Area Planning Council's Local Energy Action Program is on the agenda.
5. Reading Finance Committee. The Reading Finance Commitee continues its review of the FY13 town manager's budget at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Reading Municipal Light Department. The agenda includes budget review for the library, police and fire.

Agreed Ellen. We are two different communities. A helpful online source of information just got diluted by 50%.

Go back to a separate patches for Reading and North Reading. We aren't the same town and don't care what happens in the other town. You arbitrarily pared Reading and North Reading, why not Reading and Wakefield? Reading and Stoneham? N. Reading and Wilmington? N. Reading and Lynnfield?
