The North Reading Hornets beat the Reading Rockets 9-8 in their softball game Thursday at the Little School.

Reading methodically built a 7-1 lead after four and a half innings. North Reading bats came alive at the end scoring four runs in the fifth and four more in a wild seventh inning.

Terri Ferrazzani pitched all seven innings for North Reading. Senior captains Morgan Fallon and Nicole Nelson both hit home runs for Reading.
