Hornets Return Home State Champions

North Reading's baseball team won the state championship.

Sign on the fence surrounding No.Reading High School wishing the team good luck in Worcester.
Danny Hornby, Jimmy Currier and Jack Rich went to the ballgame then hurried back to greet their heroes.
The spoils of victory include letting everyone in town know you're State Champs.
Police and fire departments provided the team with an honor guard.
Fire engines and two school busses turn off Main Street behind the empty baseball field.
Players and fans hang out of the bus windows.

After beating Mount Everett for the State Championship in Worcester, Frank Carey's baseball team arrived home to be met by 200-300 fans and family members. Their buses were led to the high school by a police car and five fire trucks.
