Pat Lee to Take Over Food Services at Hillview Country Club

The Pub at Hillview Country Club will now be serviced by Pat Lee, owner of the Horseshoe Grille.

Do you like to eat at the Horseshoe Grille? Then you are going to love dining at The Pub at the Hillview Country Club starting in Januray 2013.

The Board of Selectmen announced Monday night that President of the Chamber of Commerce and Owner of the Horseshoe Grille Pat Lee won a conract to service the country club.

The board congratulated Lee on the award, which is a five-year contract with the option for five additional years for The Pub at Hillview as well as the function facility.

The Hillview Commission put out a request for a proposal, Lee responded and won. The contract will start on Jan. 1, 2013. The former contract holder, Burton Page, had been servicing Hillview for about 25 years, however their proposal was not accepted this time around.

"We are happy to follow in his footsteps with the fine job that he has done over the years," Lee said.

Lee is working with the commission and hopes to meet with them soon to put together "a master plan to accomplish some of the goals we set for ourselves."

Those goals include improving the facilities and ambiance, creating a new menu and providing the Hillview with the food assortment, variety and freshness that residents have come to expect from the Horseshoe Grille, Lee said.

"We hope to create a new and exciting menu and make it a facility that the entire community can be proud of, and our goal is to work in partnership with the Hillview Commission to achieve that," he said.

The changes to the Hillview will be in phases, Lee said, and he is excited about the opportunity. He also plans to work closely with organizations in town to help with their fundraising causes and to promote the Chamber of Commerce's Buy Local Initiative.

"We’re very grateful that the Hillview Commission saw fit to show us their confidence in awarding us this contract," he said.

Sounds like a great move by the Hillview Commission, Pat certainly has proven himself with his success at the Horseshoe. Thank you to Mr. Page for his years of managing the facility. Physical improvements to the facility need to be made to make this work. Good luck, Pat!

Ten years ago, the Hillview was the only place my father would go out to eat. He knew all the staff by name, and was always so welcome there. I'm proud to see that a Townie got the contract. Pat, you deserve it, and I know you'll do great !!
