Lynn Resident Arrested on Warrant, Other Charges in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the Reading Police Department log from Monday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 10:36 p.m. Wednesday, as the result of a motor vehicle stop on Haverhill Street, Rafael Ramirez, 30, of 18 Hamilton St. in Lynn was arrested on a warrant. He will also be charged for unlicensed operation and having an expired inspection sticker

Monday, July 16

  • At 7:58 a.m., a caller reported two suspicious males breaking into a shed on Line Road. Police spoke to the males, one owns the shed and he was putting items in there.
  • At 9:05 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Haven Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 11:20 a.m., a caller reported an unauthorized withdrawal from his bank account.
  • At 3:08 p.m., a John Carver Road resident reported harassing phone calls.
  • At 3:20 p.m., a caller reported that his car was hit while parked on General Way.
  • At 7:50 p.m., a caller reported unauthorized charges on his credit card.

Tuesday, July 17

  • At 7:51 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 2:59 p.m., a caller reported a minor car accident on Main Street. 

Wednesday, July 18

  • At 2:47 a.m., a caller reported a man sleeping on a wall on Main Street. The man told police that he was unable to sleep in his apartment because of a foul odor in the building. Police checked the exterior of the building, but did not smell anything. They were not able to gain access to the interior.
  • At 1:15 p.m., a caller reported wires down on Minot Street. 
  • At 1:30 p.m., a caller reported that a male was stuck in the elevator in the condos on Sanborn Street. Police reported to the scene and the male was able to get out of the elevator.
  • At 1:49 p.m., a caller reported a tree on fire on Pine Ridge Road. Rain put the fire out.
  • At 1:56 p.m., a caller reported that a female was stuck in an elevator on Summit Drive. The Fire Department reported to the scene and were able to get the female out of the elevator.
  • At 2:24 p.m., a caller reported a tree down on Sanborn Lane.
  • At 2:44 p.m., a caller reported that a house on Avalon Road was struck by lightning.
  • At 2:56 p.m., a caller reported that a tree on Sandra Lane was struck by lightning.
  • At 3:46 p.m., a Scotland Road resident reported that his cell phone and cash were taken from his pocket.
  • At 9:35 p.m., a Franklin Street resident reported that his house was egged.
