Local Republican and Democratic Party members from across Massachusetts will discuss the Oct. 3 presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney live in our chat room above. We'll start at 8:30 with some pre-debate talk, before the debate begins at 9 p.m.

If you have a comment you'd like to add to the discussion, or a question for one of our panelists, type it in the chat room above once we're underway. Patch staff will pick out the best comments and questions to add to the chat.

I feel sometimes that both candidates are stretching the truth at times and need to be more honestly descriptive on major issues - i.e. health care, social security, foreign policy. I pray for Mitt Romney as I feel he is so much more knowledgeable
and genuine in all areas. I honestly feel it is and would be a sad case if Obama won
the Presidential election mainly due to minority voters. With the turmoil of the last four years how can anyone who is aware of the mess we are in, vote for Obama.
He does have a very nice personality, however, this country cannot be run on personality and charme.
