New Pavilion at Ipswich River Park
The pavilion at Ipswich River Park should be ready next week.
A new pavilion is being constructed at Ipswich River Park. Under the guidance of Parks Director Marty Tilton and funded by the Hillview Enterprise and the Land Utilization Committee.
Operations Director/Department Head of Parks & Rec Maureen Stevens said, "It is expected to be completed within the week, but finishing touches will be done to it within the next couple of weeks. It will be ready for use shortly after this week."
The 30-foot by 60-foot pavilion will be covered and have several picnic tables and four charcoal grilles. It will be available for private birthday parties, weddings, company outings, and other special events. The pavilion is open for the public, unless otherwise reserved for an event. Call the Parks Department for fees and availability.
Stevens said, "This is another great addition to Ipswich River Park bringing some much needed shade for those who like to sit and watch sporting events or take in the beauty of the park."

This will be a nice addition to the park. I am wondering though, what is happening with the skate park. It is one of the most used features in the park, but has been in need of repair for quite some time and is now closed during summer, the time when it gets used the most.

Went by the other day and finally saw it, although it was from a distance! We were in Ipswich painting homes and got a chance to swing by and have a look. You're right Laura, the Ice Rink is really nice and could benefit from a repair! http://www.olympicpainting.com/painting-ipswich-ma/
