North Reading Awarded Local Cultural Council Grant
Over $3,500 in Grants Given to North Reading by Massachusetts Cultural Council.
The following was submitted by the office of Rep. Jones:
Representative Bradley H. Jones, Jr. (R-North Reading) and Senator Bruce Tarr (R-Gloucester), in conjunction with the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), are pleased to announce that the North Reading Cultural Council has been awarded a Local Cultural Council Program grant from the MCC totaling $3,870.
Announced by the MCC as part of a statewide funding initiative, the grant will help to support a variety of cultural activities to benefit local residents.
“I am pleased the MCC has afforded the North Reading Cultural Council the opportunity to continue the amazing work they do to bring the arts to the residents of North Reading,” said Representative Jones. “This funding will help continue the ongoing outreach initiative and success of the Cultural Council here in North Reading.”
The Local Cultural Councils comprise the most extensive public cultural funding network in the nation. They continue to provide funding to every Massachusetts city and town through 329 local councils and more than 2,300 volunteers.
“The North Reading Cultural Council does tremendous work in connecting all of us with the arts, and enriching our lives with the work and talents of gifted people,” said Senator Tarr. “That work is worthy of state support, and I’m pleased that it’s coming.”
The Massachusetts Cultural Council is a state agency supporting the arts, sciences, and humanities to improve the quality of life in Massachusetts and its communities. It pursues its mission through a combination of grants, services and advocacy for nonprofit cultural organizations, schools, communities and artists.
