North Reading's Annual Apple Festival Saturday
The Apple Festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You won't want to miss this year's Apple Festival on the grounds of the Rev. Daniel Putnam House, 27 Bow St., North Reading from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The 18th annual festival is sponsored by the Historical Society and will feature an apple pie contest, live entertainment, food and drink, children’s games, an art auction, vendors, pony rides and more. Proceeds will go to the Historical Society to help them maintain the Putnam House.
"We enjoy it all the time, and having all the people there," Member of the Historical Society Virginia Mills said.
The Apple Festival will have some new vendors this year including American Girl Doll clothing, new jewelry vendors and others.
Also new this year, the Reading YMCA will be holding a Zumbathon outside at the Senior Center before the festival at 9 a.m. The outdoor class is open to all ages and levels. Proceeds will go toward the Burbank YMCA 2012 Annual Fund which supports community members in need. For more information, contact Julie Slack at 781-909-7417 or email@example.com.
Parking will not be permitted at Union Congregational Church's parking lot on Saturday as they have a funeral. The rain date for the event is Sunday, Sept. 16.
