NRHS Ranked Among the Top 50 Public High Schools in the State
North Reading was ranked 32 out of 50, but omitted from the original list.
North Reading High School was ranked 32 out of 50 of the top high schools in the state in Boston magazine. According to NRHS Principal Jon Bernard, they omitted the high school from their original list due to a reporter error.
Boston magazine ranked the schools based on standardized test scores, extra-curricular activities and more. This year, they were ranked 32 out of 50, which is a step up from their 2010 ranking of 45.
There was a reporter error, Bernard said, and NRHS was left off the list. The list online was corrected, but not the print version of the magazine.
"I wish also to thank the students and teachers of the school district who work so hard each and every day. This surely is something that all of North Reading can be very proud," Bernard said.

To clarify this ranking, Boston Magazine actually reviewed 220 high schools and culled that list to get the top 50. So, in reality, according to Boston Magazine, North Reading High School ranks higher than 188 of the high schools it assessed.
