P & S Convenient Store Robbed at Knifepoint
A male suspect made off with an unknown amount of cash after showing the cashier a knife.
The P & S Convenient Store on Lowell Street was robbed Friday night, by a man wearing a black ski mask and brandishing a black folding knife with a jagged edge.
An unknown sum of money was taken and no one was hurt.
At approximately 8:46 p.m., a male suspect, described as between 19 and 25 years old, with brown eyes, a stocky build and olive or tan complexion entered the store and showed the clerk the knife and demanded money, which was duly turned over in an unknown amount.
The suspect then fled in a motor vehicle. Additional descriptive information puts the suspect at around 5-foot-8 inches tall, left-handed with black bushy eyebrows, wearing a black ski hat and mask, dark blue jeans and tan boots.
Police from Wilmington, as well as state police from the Danvers barracks responded, and North Reading Police conducted an unsuccessful search for the suspect and vehicle.
Police are still seeking the individual or individuals responsible at this time.

Good catch. So can we please just not release this dirtbag on $100 bail and instead hold him til trial. Use of a knife & drug stuff in car indicates he is dangerous & desperate, as well as the similar past arrest (2007) for a similar armed robbery. And, ye judges of MA, when this dirtbag is inevitably convicted, can we please lock him up for a decent amount of time? I wish there could be some type of a special jail/"cold turkey rehab" with hard labor, etc., for anyone convicted repeatedly of crimes to support drug habits, especially ones involving weapons. Something that also can provide restitution to victims that are robbed, etc. - something akin to a chain gang but they are made to do good things for societ instead just break rocks. Kind of like the crews that clean beside the highways, only something hard enough/gross enough to make them think twice about committing a crime again.

I was being sort of sarcastic..obviously there must be rehab offered to these folks at some point, but there needs to be a stick as well as a carrot...I just am fed up with the in and out justice and our towns continually being victimized & it getting worse these past few years. Notice also I said REPEAT VIOLENT offenders - would be more sympathetic to kids getting caught for 1st time,though I think there should be something happen strong enough to deter it from happening again.

Thanks for the clarification -- didn't mean to attack your original comment so harshly. As far as repeat offenders are concerned, if they're doing it because they are addicted to drugs, no amount of punishment will deter them, since they are being fueld by either withdrawal or the emotional and physical effects of being on the drugs. I think treatment for drug addiction is the only viable option.

The clerk in the Wakefield robbery reported that the suspects fled in a yellow car "with spoilers." The car used by the suspects in the Hamilton robbery was a yellow Hyundai Tiburon.
