Patch Launches 'Grocery Specials' Section
Print coupons, find grocery specials and email lists to yourself and friends using Patch's new "Grocery Specials" section.
Patch announced its launch this week of the Grocery Specials section.
Grocery Specials allows readers to browse local grocery coupons and weekly specials. Similar to the weekly circulars found in print newspapers by each local retailer, the Grocery Specials section has hundreds of retailers’ specials in one place. This section uses a third-party (Grocery Server) to deliver local grocery data.
Reader benefits:
- Find grocery specials in local grocery stores like Stop & Shop
- Add specials and coupons to a list, with a total price of groceries calculated
- Print coupons
- Print a list of specials
- Email a list of specials to yourself or another peson
How to Access Grocery Specials from Reading-North Reading Patch:
- On the homepage navigation bar, click on "More Stuff," then select "Grocery Specials" from the drop-down menu; or
- Click on the “Start Saving” button on the “Grocery Specials” unit located on the bottom right of the homepage.

This is a very weird feature. WHenever you click anywhere in the box it just takes you to a page teling you how to 'advertise on patch'. not to mention that the stores it's advertising don't even exist within 50 miles of Reading/NR. Big Y supermarket? What? nearest one is in Worcester. So weird.

I just clicked on the link and got a page where I could scroll down through more stores than just Big Y (e.g., nearby stores like CVS, Target, Stop and Shop, for example). It did take a moment for that page to load. Market Basket is on the list but grayed out - perhaps they did not want to pay to be listed on this service, preferring instead to pass the savings directly on to customers.
