Police Log: Man Arrested With Two Identities, Warrants for Both

Notable entries from the Saturday, July 23 police log.

12:20 a.m. The fire department responded to an alarm on Milton Road and found that it had been set off by a faulty detector.

1:50 a.m. An officer responded to an anonymous report of a dog left outside barking constantly on Prescott Street. An officer attempted to contact the animal’s owner, but was unable to. The officer left a note about the complaint.

4:17 a.m. An officer responded to a tree down on Ash Hill Road. The tree took power wires down with it. Officers stood by while the Reading Municipal Light Department handled the scene.

11:30 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a loose beagle running near George Street. The officer was unable to get possession of the dog. The officer was also unable to contact the dog’s owner.

1:28 p.m. An Orange Street resident reported that his vehicle had been struck earlier while it was parked at the Market Basket on General Way.

3:00 p.m. A Washington Street resident reported that someone struck her vehicle while it was parked in the lot at her apartment.

4:33 p.m. An Oak Ridge Road resident reported that someone stole his wallet while he was on vacation in New Hampshire.

5:01 p.m. An officer responded to a two-vehicle collision between a Reading driver and an Everett driver near the Burger King on Ash Street.

6:13 p.m. As a result of a traffic stop, an officer arrested Mark Sullivan, 50 of Everett on outstanding warrants. Sullivan, who original gave officer the alias of John Regan, had warrants for his arrest for driving without a license forgery and vehicle violations. The officer also charged him with giving a false name.

9:06 p.m. A caller reported hearing fireworks near Reading Memorial High School. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate any fireworks.

9:24 p.m. An officer responded to a report of youths being loud at the Parker Middle School on Temple Street. The officer found the youths at the soccer field, playing with their parents. The officer sent them away.

9:32 p.m. An Ash Street resident reported fireworks being set off in an empty lot behind her home. An officer found a group of adults in the lot and informed them of the complaint. They agreed to keep it down.

11:19 p.m. A Pearl Street resident reported that two men who had been sitting on the back porch at a Salem Street propertyPol when he approached. An officer checked the area and found that the building had not been entered.

11:31 p.m. An officer responded to a complaint of a loud house party at an Intervale Terrace home and found the property quiet.
