QUESTION: What's Your Favorite Thanksgiving Memory?

Share your Thanksgiving memories.

The holidays are all about family, traditions and memories. It’s a chance to reconnect with family and friends whether through a card, email, phone call or catching up over dinner.

Thanksgiving doesn’t have the cache of Christmas. There are no gifts or commercialism to distract us and because of this Thanksgiving is many people’s favorite holiday.

Every family has its own traditions and memories that bring a smile. That favorite memory might be a big football game, but most likely it’s a special moment you shared with a loved one -- possibly someone who has since passed away.

In Northampton, MA, where I grew up, there was something called the "Honor Court" that was for recovering addicts and such. On Thanksgiving, the Honor Court would prepare hundreds of turkey dinners for shut-ins, the elderly, etc. My dad and I would volunteer to make deliveries. We'd go down Thanksgiving morning, load up as many dinners as my dad's car could hold, and then drive around town making deliveries. I remember not only the camaraderie with my dad but how the dinners made people smile. We'd then go home and have our own dinner that much more thankful.
