Things got chippy during Wednesday night's slugfest between Woburn and Reading.

What a difference a month makes.

After dominating Woburn, 7-1, on January 12, it was the Tanners who pounced to a 3-0 lead on Wednesday night at Burbank Arena. But the Rockets bounced back nicely, chipping away and eventually coming away with a 3-3 tie.

Reading, ranked No. 4 in the state by ESPN Boston, is still in the middle of the conversation for a Super 8 berth thanks to its 12-1-5 record.

But on Wednesday it was Woburn that looked like the top tier team. Matt McLelland began to turn the tides, however, as he scored with 3:37 left in the opening frame.

Mike Thomson sliced the deficit to 3-2 early in the second period, and it appeared the Rockets had knotted the score with 4:10 left in the frame. But Robert Diloreto's goal was waved off by referees as the net came off the hinges.

With 47 seconds left in the middle period, Connor Frazier made his goal stick, and tied things up at 3-3.

The game was physical throughout, with huge hits everywhere on the ice. Things calmed down for the most part in the third period, with most of the hits coming from the puck on Woburn goalie Jeremy Flibotte. The junior was up to the task though, keeping Reading from striking again.
