Ironic that they brought in Ronald McDonald & made the re-opening seemingly all about kids...yet the "renovation" essentially was to tear down the Kids Playplace and replace it with...nothing (at least not yet).

I agree, they should have kept the playplace or upgraded it.

I am personally happy that the playspace is gone. The building looks less obtrusive in the surrounding environment. Plus attaching play to junk food to me is a bad idea.

M, you said, the "renovation" essentially was to tear down the Kids Playplace and replace it with...nothing (at least not yet).

Did you happen to look at the outside of the building or go into the building ???
There wasa lot more done there than just removing the play area.

Joe, I had been dining in the building last Friday the 9th and everything there looked the same as it has been the past few months...maybe the chairs are newer (looked essentially the same) - this mcdonald's had gone to the "mccafe" approach for some time now in the interior (which I thought was renovated within last 2 years already) with flat screen tvs, cafe machines, etc. I probably go there once a month. It was nice inside already; if it changed from what it was in last year on the inside, I barely noticed. The exterior has a "fancier" frontage, I guess, but as someone with young kids I do miss that playplace. Was more pleaseant than the one in Reading McD. Frankly having that playplace there was "more" of an incentive for me to come up there in good weather with the kids & have a quick lunch followed by their burning off some steam in it before further errands.
