Reading is in a festive mood this weekend. Following Thursday's Shop the Block event, local groups are hosting holiday sales, holiday concerts and holiday wine and alcohol tastings. The weekend also features the Reading Technology in Education Foundation's annual Festival of Trees, where residents can buy raffle tickets to win pre-decorated trees of many sizes. The Quannapowitt Players continue their run o the Paisley Sisters' Christmas Special, and the Reading Public Library will light the memory tree on Sunday—and don't forget the Reading Community Singers concert at the Old South Methodist Church. This is the kind of weekend that calls for hot cocoa and Christmas tree cookies.
