MBTA Schedule

The MBTA will be free on all service lines after 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

Subway

New Year's Eve, Monday, Dec. 31: 

• The Red Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush-hour levels of service throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until approximately 2 a.m.
• The Orange Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush-hour levels of service throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until approximately 2 a.m.
• The Blue Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush-hour levels of service throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until approximately 2 a.m. 
• The Green B-, C-, D-, and E-Lines will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush-hour levels of services throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until approximately 2 a.m. 
• The Silver Line will operate a regular weekday schedule.

New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1

• The Red Line will operate a Sunday schedule.
• The Orange Line will operate a Sunday schedule.
• The Blue Line will operate a Sunday schedule. 
• The Green B-, C-, D-, and E-Lines will operate a Sunday schedule. 
• The Silver Line will operate a Sunday schedule.

Commuter Rail

New Year's Eve, Monday, Dec. 31:

• The Fairmount Line operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Fitchburg/South Acton Line a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Framingham/Worcester Line a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided. 
• The Franklin Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Greenbush Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Haverhill Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided. 
• The Kingston/Plymouth Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Lowell Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Middleborough/Lakeville Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Needham Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Newburyport/Rockport Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.
• The Providence/Stoughton Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional service provided.

The following are the last Commuter Rail trains to operate. There will not be any alternative services available. Customers must arrive prior to departure time.

• Buses and trackless trolleys will operate a Sunday schedule.

The RIDE

On New Year's Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, The RIDE will operate on a normal schedule with extended hours until 2:30 a.m. 

On New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan, 1, The RIDE will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Boat

New Year's Eve, Monday, Dec. 31

• F1 - Hingham Service will operate a modified weekday schedule. Additional service from Rowes Wharf to Hingham will operate at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. departures from Rowes Wharf will not operate. The last departure from Rowes Wharf to Hingham will be at 7:00 p.m. 
• F2/F2H - Quincy Service will operate a modified weekday schedule. Three additional stops will be made in Hull: the 12:05 p.m. departure from Long Wharf will stop in Hull at 12:20 p.m. and arrive in Quincy at 12:35 p.m.; the 1:25 p.m. departure from Long Wharf will stop in Hull at 1:55 p.m. and arrive in Quincy at 2:10 p.m.; and the 2:15 p.m. departure from Long Wharf will stop in Hull at 2:35 p.m. and arrive in Quincy at 3:00 p.m. There will be no evening service after the 6:05 p.m. departure from Long Wharf.  
• F4 - Charlestown Service will operate a regular weekday schedule. 

New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1

• F1 - Hingham Service will not operate.
• F2/F2H - Quincy Service will not operate.
• F4 - Charlestown Service will not operate.
