What Should Go Here?
What should go in the old Lew's Mobi in North Readingl?
Lew's Mobil on Park Street in North Reading closed last May after 46 years. What do you think should go in the vacant lot?
Another gas station? An extension of Ryers? A retail store?
As part of our new Visions for Vacancies column, we want to know what you would like to see go into that location. Let us know in the comments section.

While the gas station would likely need to be leveled, I think the location would be ideal for a good restaurant. I'm not talking about another pizza place or sub shop, but a nice, intimate restaurant. In my opinion, there are too few of these in North Reading.

Another option might be for an independent sporting goods store. Why? It would give competition to Play It Again and would be located close enough to the Middle and High Schools so that players (perhaps who forgot mouth guards) or fans (who want to support NR games with a shirt) could pick up these items within walking distance of the games.

A shop that caters to bicyclists. Haverhill is such a popular bike route -- bike sales, accessories, repairs, route planning, energy bars, biking books.

Great suggestion! And with Harold Parker State Forest right up the road there is a great need for a bike shop in the area for mountain bike gear.

I see that there is a "sold" sign on Lew's. I wonder what is going in there, anybody know?
