Where Are North Reading's Most Ignored Stop Signs?

Stop signs are not optional, but they're sometimes treated as if they are.

There are tons of stop signs in North Reading, but all too often, they are overlooked when drivers are in a rush.

We have all seen it and probably many would admit of a stop sign roll-through at one point in time.

Do you know of a location where a stop sign is frequently rolled through or ignored?

Share where it is in the comments section, below.

Pine Ridge Road at North Street. It's like a contest to see how many people can ignore it.

Pine Ridge Rd and North Street is the most dangerous intersection I have ever encountered! There should be a "no left turn" restriction moving eastbound on North street. Anyone that has waited to get rear ended by cars screaming down and around the hill and blind curve from Hillview CC knows exactly what I am talking about.

PS - the NRPD are aware of the problem at that intersection and are doing everything they can to make it safer.

The stop sign at the end of Concord Street coming from the industrial area and 93. Since there are two roads converging and both have stop signs, that with the traffic coming in the opposite direction having the right of way and goes mostly towards Concord Street - it gives a new meaning to a rolling stop - more like a slow down to make sure there is no police monitoring. Trying getting out of Southwick Road between 4:30pm and 5:30pm - taking your life in your hands all day, every day.

Thank you, Bill. Yes, the stop sign seems to be just a mild suggestion there. People seem to actually get impatient with me when I do stop there. Mornings (from 7 to 9)
are equally bad, particularly with the high school and middle school bus stop (which residents have been asking for years to be changed) right there.

It has to be at the corner of Concord Street. Not even the police stop there, but they give tickets to those who don't.

Concord and Park...
The right turn before the light at Park and Rte 28 in front of the Cote FH. People treat the stop at the right turn as if it were a yield...
Central and North St, coming from the Little League fields...
The right on red at the light coming out of Burroughs Rd. People seem to forget they have to stop first when it is a red light.

I agree with the Pine Ridge turn being dangerous as I live on that street but prohibiting a left turn? How would we all get home? LOL

Bow & Haverhill St.
There was a stop sign until it was relocated when Rebecca Way was put in. Now there's a stop sign for a private Way, with 2 houses, (essentially a driveway) but none, with visibility at a critical intersection !! go figure??
