- Lindsey McGovern
- Lindsey is a 17-year -ld senior at Reading Memorial High School.
- After a friend and her grandmother were diagnosed with cancer, Lindsey came up with the idea to knit scarves and donate the money to cancer research. Lindsey offered customers choices of colors, each color designating a type of cancer. When finally completed, Lindsey and friends will have knitted close to 150 scarves and raised an estimated $400 to donate to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
- Lindsey’s “key to awesomeness” lies in her dedication and varied interests. She is a talented dancer who has taken lessons for 12 years. She is also involved in the Reading High School Drama Club, and most recently performed in “The Scarlet Pimpernel” as Duchess of Wales. Currently, she is assisting with the upcoming performance of Noises Off, as props mistress. Lindsey has also had her poetry published in The Live Poets Society of New Jersey and with the Eber and Wein Publishing Company.
