Each week, Reading Patch will select a Whiz Kid of the Week. This week, we chose Brian Haungs, a Reading Memorial High School Senior who recently snagged two scholarships to Ohio Wesleyan University.

- Brian is a senior at Reading Memorial High School
- He earned two academic scholarships from Ohio Wesleyan University—a Schubert HonorsScholarship and an Ohio Wesleyan Founder's Scholarship— and has been accepted into the university's honors program after participating in the Schubert Honors Scholarships competition.
- Haungs was invited to compete in the annual competition based on his outstanding academic performance, extracurricular involvement and potential for success in college studies at the university. He has previously demonstrated his academic prowess and involvement by being one of 42 RMHS students inducted into the National Honor Society last year and by helping to coordinate a jazz band competition recently held at RMHS.
