Reading resident Jerry Pothier, Medford resident Camille Bardaro and Boxford resident Caitlan Douglas Merullo will open Zinga!, a self-serve yogurt shop, on 30 Haven St. in August.
The self-serve concept allows you to choose exactly how much fro-yo you want, and you pay by the ounce. Try every flavor, or just one and then cover your yogurt with as many toppings as you'd like.
"We are truly excited to be bringing a quality franchise like Zinga! to Reading," Pothier said. "We hope and trust that the community will embrace this new business and help us succeed. We look forward to many years of serving our community with his healthy and delicious product."
According to Pothier, the Reading Zinga! will offer 12 flavors of fat-free and low calorie frozen yogurt including Red Velvet Cake, Banana and Pacific Coast Tart. They will also have non-dairy flavors including lemonade and watermelon. The yogurt shop will also stock over 50 toppings, including fresh fruit.
Zinga! has over 225 locations across the country, and the Reading shop is the newest addition.
The owners plan to be involved with the community and will partner with EMARC by supporting some of their programs.

It certainly is! And did you know that all of Zinga’s frozen yogurt flavors meet the National Yogurt Association’s criteria for Live and Active Culture yogurt?! We do not use powdered yogurt like some of our competitors! ;)

Is Orange Leaf still opening its store on Main at the corner of Haven as planned in August?
Who knew that Reading residents could eat so much frozen yogurt to support two locations within a couple of block of each other?

Doesn't look like that Haven Street store would be ready anytime soon- from what I could see today the first floor doesn't even have interior walls or wallboard up yet, let alone flooring, counters, etc. And the main st store still appears to have papered-up windows. They're all missing out on some golden last hot weeks of summer.
