In all seriousness -- is anyone really going to miss Saturday mail delivery?
In all seriousness -- will all bread, milk and water be gone until April if we really get two feet plus of snow on Friday/Saturday? People of earth, please stop acting this way.
In all seriousness -- does it get any better than working at home when 2-plus feet of snow are predicted?
In all seriousness -- how underrated are the Psychedelic Furs? And on the flip side, how overrated is the Grateful Dead (This last statement will cause me some big time grief)
Dead serious -- is that Southie Rules thing really on television? What a travesty. Just when you think TV can’t sink any lower it surprises you.
Wicked Serious – Has talk radio really sunk this low? A radical, nutjob, right wing Boston talk show host this morning was playing clips of Chris Rock talking about President Obama and using them as evidence that Obama is a fascist and is acting as a dictator. Um, he’s a comedian. Who cares what he says? The host later was talking about women swearing, drinking beer out of bottles in bars and smoking, and claiming this is a clear indicator of the decay of American society.
Seriously – Did Jim Nabors once really release an album of contemporary songs, and why? His voice was great for epic songs such as “The Impossible Dream” or the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” but everything he sang sounded so serious. For example, this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8-gCaCFRtY
Super Serious – People really go out in the cold, stand around, and watch a tractor trailer truck full of equipment drive off to Florida? And of course, the Red Sox turn it into a marketing and sales event.
I am completely serious – Has there ever been a better invention than the Keurig coffee maker?
Seriously – God had nothing to do with Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens winning the Superbowl, right?
You can’t be serious – The inventor of the Toyota Prius is now saying that electric cars will never be able to replace gas-driven cars? http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/feb/4/goodbye-prius-japan-carmakers-drop-electric-car-de/
Is this serious? – Scott “middle-of-the-road” Brown is in talks to become a commentator on Faux News? Money can’t buy you love, but it looks like it can make Scott Brown carry the right wing’s water. More power to him though if he can make some big time bucks as a result of his 2-year U.S. Senate stint.
I’m not kidding – we really do see baby pigeons, but we just don’t know it. It seems that once they leave the nest and start to walk around and fly, they often are already bigger than their parents because they have been fed regularly and have gotten no exercise.
Not serious at all -- Bill Belichick seems like a swell guy.

I hate Keurig - completely environmentally insensitive. And I like women who drink beer out of bottles!

Thanks, Les. I think it is important to try to mix a little fun and humor into the every day problems and issues we all face. You know what they say, "all work and no play make Jack a dull boy."

You're right- they can't be serious. The Washington Times continues to use "hybrid" and "electric" interchangeably, because it fits their agenda, but they are actually quite different.
Uchiyamada was talking about electric plug-ins, not hybrids, so this would have no effect on the Prius, which was, at one point last year, the 3rd best-selling car in the world.
And Toyota and Nissan are separate companies, so despite what the Washington Times says, the "Father of the Prius" isn't the Vice-Chairman of Nissan. You can tell which news outlets just cut-and-paste propaganda when you see blatant mistakes like that repeated.
Otherwise, fun article Mel.

Thanks, Tom. I figured the article was suspect since it comes from the Washington Times.

A very good read Mel .I enjoyed it. But the truck leaving Fenway is a sign of the coming of Spring...until they loose 10 straight in April! In HS (Stoneham) I played several games vs Frank Carey's team when he started in NR('68). I claim I went 4 for 4 in one game, he tells me he scored an on base as an error. I stay with the 4 for 4. Wooden bats by the way. He knew my coach very well, Don McGillicutty.

Mel, between you here and Jim Pothier on Facebook, I'm guaranteed a smile when I read your stuff. You two should get together and whip up a stand-up routine.
I agree with you about "Southie Rules"...I only lasted 5 minutes of the first episode; 5 minutes of my life wasted.
Also in violent agreement on the Keurig. One of the best inventions ever, right up there with the microwave and universal remote.
