Greetings to all. After being interviewed by the Patch editor she was most helpful in directing me to this blog. I am Reading's Democratic Alternate Delegate to this year's National Convention in Charlotte, NC.
I had already started a blog of my own as sort of a diary to give a ground level view of preparations and actual events at the convention. That blog can be reached at www.oetkb.wordpress.com. As an introduction to the blog, the first few entries are listed below so the reader can know what the blog is about without scrolling through all the entries.
I welcome feedback one way or the other. My skin is pretty thick but prefer not to have baseless ad hominem attacks but if you are so inclined so be it. Its real purpose is to inform and perhaps generate some enlightening dialog. My take on liberals and conservatives is a liberal states what they want to change and a conservative enjoins what they do not want to change. After that the conversation can begin.

Well Ayse and I are now on the road to Charlotte via airplane of course. We are sitting in Ronald Reagan Airport waiting for the arrival of our flight to Charlotte. I think it is going to be a great experience. A number of caucuses and councils have been arranged to dig in on various issues--seniors, disabled, veterans, health care reform to name a few. It is more a case of figuring out what you can leave out. On Monday there will be a Carolinafest in Uptown to celebrate Labor Day. Most evenings there will be social receptions for the Massachusetts Delegates. We will seeing each other in the am for breakfast since this is where they will hand out credentials to get into the Convention Center. Tuesday night will feature Julian Castro the mayor of San Antonio and Michelle Obama. Wednesday is a special night. The highlight is President Clinton but our very own Elizabeth Warren will speak to the nation. Scott Brown was a no show at the podium at the RNC even though he was asked to speak. What is that about? Camera shy? The final night at the football stadium with a capacity of over 70,000 will belong to Joe Biden and President Obama. I would say he is going to knock it out of the park but it's a pretty big stadium. Who knows? Maybe he will. I have signed up for interviews with C-Span on Monday. That should be an experience. Will write again soon. If you want to read more again my blog is: oetkb.wordpress.com
