Gee, I bet almost all of the taxpayers in town have had their salaries go up by at least that much, too! Right!

Mr. Canney- I respectfully suggest you step away from the keyboard and attend one of the meetings and ask these questions, in person. Mr. Turosz does a good job covering town issues, but no newspaper article can properly capture every discussion that has occurred at these various public meetings- meetings which you've said you have not attended.
Clearly mistakes have been made, but this project is moving forward whether you like it or not. That's what 79% of the voters, what you've called "special interests," wanted. You can't suddenly put the trees back and undo the work that has already been done, so the question is, where do we go from here? How do we do this right- for both the students and abutters- at the best value to the taxpayers?
Accusing the Selectmen of meeting in executive session simply to hide embarrassing info or accusing Mr. Webster of intentionally misleading people is irresponsible and unproductive.

"Clearly mistakes have been made"....but that's the issue! How costly are these mistakes? Tom, if you make mistakes w/your money, that's fine. If its the public's money, that's an entirely different issue. Defending these "mistakes" has to be explained w/competence. All I see is reaction to their mention. Which only causes further distrust. Webster, Jeff, you and Intorcio ooze such a reactionary disposition. That is what is not healthy to a community...don't ask, don't tell?

Obviously our pay has not increased(specifically retirees), John. So additional funding for the new HS has many questioning exactly from where is this money going to come. Hopefully the Selectman will stop this madness, and re-access this project. A prime example of how a special interest group can actually be detrimental to a community, and control an administrative board.
