Hundreds of people headed to Comically Speaking Saturday to get their free comic book—courtesy of National Free Comic Book Day. Owner of Comically Speaking, Patrick Jamal, said that he gave away close to 500 comic books during the day. Writer, artist, and teacher Tyler James was also at the store to promote and sell his new graphic novel. Prints of his original artwork were also on sale.
Town officials and members of the Mattera family were on-hand this weekend to celebrate the opening of the newly-renovated Mattera Cabin, the centerpiece of the Mattera conservation area that will now serve as a meeting place and function hall. We sent reporter Kara Deyermenjian to the event to capture all that she could, and she brought us the above video in addition to other content you'll see later this week.
