 or rising seniors who would like to know more about planning for a succe
 ssful college application process and where to start.&nbsp\; The course&
 rsquo\;s main emphasis will be on writing the college application essay.
 &nbsp\; Students will learn more about the Common Application and other 
 variations\, specific parts of a college application\, time management d
 uring the process\, and how towrite the best college application essay p
 ossible. The essay writing portion will involve topic development and fr
 ee-writing\, with hopes of an eventual draft.&nbsp\; A book entitled How
  to Write a Winning College Application Essay by Michael James Mason\, w
 ill be used for textual examples of essays\, skills needed for basic ess
 ay writing\, and much more.&nbsp\; Students much purchase this book on t
 heir own through any source where it is available.&nbsp\; There will als
 o be one on one time with the instructor.&nbsp\; If students have a lapt
 op\, it is recommended that they bring it to use for free-writing in the
  classroom\, but it is not required.\nTo register\, please email Zachary

 ctor.\nAbout the Instructor\nZachary Camenker is a recent graduate of th
 e Reading Memorial High School Class of 2012.&nbsp\; Having just gone th
 rough the College Application Process last year\, Zachary brings recent 
 experience to the table.&nbsp\; This past school year\, Zachary took his
  strong interest and passion for writing by serving as a Senior Correspo
 ndent for the Reading Daily Times Chronicle.&nbsp\; In this position\, h
 e wrote weekly news articles and senior profiles in the Happenings in Ed
 ucation section.&nbsp\; He has also been a working member of the Youth C
 rew of the Reading Coalition Against Substance Abuse (RCASA) since July 
 of 2010.&nbsp\; A prominent student leader in the RMHS community during 
 his four years\, Zachary will be attending Saint Anselm College in the f
 all to study English and Secondary Education with hopes of teaching high
  school English.&nbsp\; He is excited to be offering this course for the
  first time and hopes that it will be good practice for his future caree
 r path.\n\n&nbsp\;
