 ed for February 7\, 2013\n(North Reading\, MA) &ndash\; On February 7\, 
 the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of North Reading will officia
 lly get underway as cancer survivors\, caregivers\, families\, schools\,
  companies\, faith-based and civic organizations gather at Kitty&rsquo\;
 s Restaurant and Lounge at 6:00 p.m. for a kick-off rally to launch thei
 r fundraising efforts for the year.\nThe American Cancer Society Relay F
 or Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities acro
 ss the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who gave battled 
 cancer\, remember loved ones lost\, and fight back against the disease. 
 People from all walks of life come together with a shared mission of fur
 thering the American Cancer Society&rsquo\;s vision of creating a world 
 with less cancer and more birthdays.\nAt Relay\, teams of people camp ou
 t at a local school\, park\, or fairground and take turns walking or run
 ning around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative
  on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps
 \, Relays are overnight events. Teams do most of their fundraising prior
  to the event\, but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their c
 amp sites during Relay.\nMark your calendar for the 2013 Relay For Life 
 of North Reading\, MA scheduled for May 31\, 2012 at the North Reading H
 igh School track. Anyone interested in forming a team\, volunteering for
  the event\, joining the planning committee\, or just learning more abou
 t Relay For Life is encouraged to attend.\nThe Relay For Life of North R
 eading will be honoring Maria Vella and celebrating Rita Mullin. Lisa Be
 rnstein will be speaking at kickoff. At kickoff\, sign up your team\, en
 ter in raffles\, and have dinner. In addition\, the first Team Captains 
 and Youth Meeting will be held at Aldersgate Church on March 13\, 2013 a
 t 6:45 p.m. All youth participants must attend at least one of the three
  meetings.\nRelay For Life events in Massachusetts raised a substantial 
 amount of money last year enabling the American Cancer Society to impact
  the lives of those touched by cancer within the community by supporting
  vital\, cutting-edge cancer research\; providing cancer patients with s
 ervices such as transportation to treatment\, free lodging at our Hope L
 odge\, and round the clock support at our national cancer information ce
