In the basement of Longwood Place there is a dance school that has maintained popularity in Reading for decades. The La Pierre School of Dance was founded with the mission of teaching children the pleasure and art of ballet. Today ballet is just one dance style taught at LaPierre. 

Classes are open to all ages and experience. Student's advancements to advanced courses are determined by their development. For those wishing to participate more than regular classes, workshops, competitions and summer programs are also offered.

At the end of every year, students participate in a exposition recital. The La Pierre School of Dance also performs at the Reading Fall Street Faire.
