American Red Cross Hosts Reading Blood Drive

Here are five things to start your Tuesday off right in Reading.

1. Happening Tuesday: Beginning at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 239 Woburn Street in Reading, you can donate blood to help save a life. The event runs until 7 p.m. and all donors receive a Free Munro Muffler coupon. To made an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org.

2. Rain, Rain Go Away: According to the National Weather Service, the rain that hung around over the weekend will stay in the area on Tuesday. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly between 2-4 p.m., and temperatures will reach 81 degrees.

3. Local Thespian: Jack Neary's "Sandbag Stage Left" will be playing in Burlington's Park Playhouse from September 14-28, and it includes a performance by Reading resident Tim Vincent. To read more about the event, visit the Patch announcement page.

4. Library Open: After it was closed for Labor Day weekend, Reading Public Library is back open for business. The library holds its regular 9 a.m.-9 p.m. hours on Tuesday.

5. Police News: In case you missed it, a recent Reading police log included the arrest of three people following an incident that involved heroin.
