Busy Friday Ahead for Rocket Teams

Here are five things to start your Friday in Reading.

1. Rockets Busy on Friday: Reading High School sports teams have a jam packed slate on the day. The field hockey team plays in Lexington at 3:30 p.m., the swim team takes to the road against Chelmsford at 3:30 p.m., the girls volleyball team travels to face Belmont at 4 p.m., and the football team travels to open its season against Dracut at 7 p.m.

2. Singing Time: Reading Public Library welcomes area youngsters on Friday at 10:15 a.m. for Infant Toddler Singalong.

3. Board of the Day: Did you know that Reading resident Leigh Barrett is going to be included in a cabaret benefit concert that will help raise money to fight lung cancer?

4. Sunny Friday: The week closes out with sunny skies and temperatures that will settle in near 78 degrees. Rain is not expected on the day, according to the National Weather Service.

5. ICYMI: In case you missed it, every eligible business in Reading passed a recent tobacco compliance check.
