EDC Meeting, Job Search Course Scheduled for Wednesday

Here are five things to start your Wednesday in Reading.

1. Happening Wednesday: Reading Public Library hosts the latest in its Job Search Skill Series on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when it hosts "Be a Rainmaker in Your Job Search." The course will feature a discussion based on the book "How to Be a Rainmaker" by Jeffrey Fox.

2. Also Happening Wednesday: Just one Reading board is scheduled to meet on Wednesday. The Economic Development Committee meets at 6 p.m. inside the Berger Room of Town Hall.

3. Preseason Wraps Up: Regular season games begin this weekend for Reading High School teams. Wednesday marks the final day of scrimmages as the field hockey team is set for a 3 p.m. scrimmage with Central Catholic and the football team plays Masconomet at 4 p.m, according to USA Today High School Sports.

4. Sunny Skies Ahead: According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will be a sunny one. Temperatures are expected to reach around 81 degrees on the day.

5. Hollywood Coming to Reading: In case you missed it, Cameron Diaz will likely be filming a movie in town this fall as a production team has been negotiating a contract with the town to shoot inside Parker Middle School.
