Five Meetings On the Docket for Tuesday

Here are five things to start your Tuesday in Reading.

1. Happening Tuesday: There are several meetings slated for Tuesday in Reading. At 3 p.m. the School Council meets, at 6 p.m. the Board of Cemetery Trustees is in action, the Board of Selectmen holds a 7 p.m. session while the Recreation Committee and Board of Assessors meet at 7 p.m. as well.

2. Rockets in Action: The Reading High School field hockey team hosts Melrose on Tuesday beginning at 3:30 p.m. The boys and girls cross country track teams are also in action on Tuesday, racing against Winchester at 3:45 p.m. out of town.

3. Sunny Tuesday: After a windy start to the week, things will calm down a bit on Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will peak at 66 degrees and skies will be sunny to go with a northwest wind of 7 to 13 MPH.

4. Playoff Baseball: The Boston Red Sox suffered a heartbreaking walk-off loss on Monday night in Tampa Bay as the Rays pulled their American League Division Series within striking distance as the series is now 2-1 in favor of Boston. On Tuesday night the teams play again at Tropicana Field as the Red Sox hope to move on to the American League Championship Series.

5. ICYMI: In case you missed it, the Reading High School football team put together an impressive defensive performance over the weekend and pushed past host Winchester for a 13-3 win. Be sure to check out all of our pictures from the Rockets victory.
