'Julia Child' Coming to Reading Public Library

Here are five things to start your Thursday in Reading.

1: Happening Thursday: Reading Public Library hosts a performance by Lynne Moulton as Julia Child on Thursday at 1 p.m. The demonstration will include lunch for those who arrive at noon, with a suggested donation of $2. Visit the Patch event page for more information.

2. Comfortable Conditions: Thursday's weather will be extremely comfortable. Temperatures will settle in at a near-perfect 68 degrees on the day. There is a 30 percent chance of rain as the week begins to wind down, but cloudy skies will turn into mostly sun, according to the National Weather Service.

3. Rockets Wanted: With the Reading High School sports season officially beginning this weekend, we want your help getting local teams covered as much as possible. You can blog about Rocket teams, and your coverage will end up on Reading Patch.

4. ICYMI: In case you missed it, we brought you information on Wednesday about an upcoming event at the Reading Paper Store. The business will host the daughter of Vera Bradley during an event to raise money for breast cancer research.

5. Board of the Day: Boy Scout Drew Kachmar will be hosting a food drive this weekend to benefit the Reading Food Pantry. Want to help him with Eagle Scout project? Find out what you can do here.
