Reading Firefighters to Teach Lifesaving Skills

Here are five things to start your Tuesday in Reading.

1. Happening Tuesday: The Board of Trustees hosts a meeting at 6 p.m., the Volunteer Appointment Subcommittee and Board of Library Trustees each meet at 7 p.m. and the Community Planning and Development Commission holds a 7:30 p.m. session.

2. Board of the Day: The Reading Fire Department is offering classes that could save a life. Firefighters and EMTs will teach classes at your home or business about CPR, first aid or a defibrillator with a minimum of four people in attendance.

3. Sunny Skies: According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will settle in at 63 degrees on the day and skies will be sunny. Rain is not expected on the day.

4. Rockets Busy: Several Reading High School teams are in action on Tuesday. The field hockey team plays at 3:30 p.m. in Belmont, the boys golf team hits the links in Arlington at 3:30 p.m., the cross country teams run in Belmont at 3:45 p.m., and the girls volleyball team plays at home beginning at 6 p.m.

5. ICYMI: Reading Police recently arrested a local teenager for operating under the influence.
