School Committee Kicks Off Week With Monday Meeting

Here are five things to kick off your Monday in Reading.

1. Happening Monday: Three boards are holding meetings on Monday in Reading. The School Committee begins with a 7 p.m. session, the Community Planning and Development Commission gathers at 7:30 p.m. and the ad Hoc Charter Review Committee holds its own meeting at 7:30 p.m.

2. Rockets in Action: Several Reading High School teams play games to kick off the week. The field hockey team plays at home beginning at 3:30 p.m., the volleyball team is in Watertown at 4 p.m., and the boys soccer team welcomes Melrose to town at 6 p.m.

3. Rainy Monday: It'll be a gloomy start to the week in Reading. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will hit 75 degrees, though their is a 70 percent chance of showers on the day.

4. Playoff Baseball: The Boston Red Sox have their first two American League Division Series games in the books against the Tampa Bay Rays. On Monday, the Red Sox travel to Tampa's Tropicana Field for Game 3. Where are you watching the game in Reading? Let us know in the comments section below.
